Oriental Weavers To Manufacture High-End Broadloom
Dalton, GA, June 2, 2008--Rug maker Oriental Weavers is getting into the woven carpet business this summer.
The company will manufacture high-end, patterned wilton-woven broadloom for the residential market incorporating Weavlon fiber that will carry retail prices points of $35 to $70 per square yard. It will also be backed by a stain warranty.
It will come in 13-foot widths and designs will incorporate up to 12 colors. The company's Weavlock technology will make pattern matching easier for installers.
The carpet will be distributed through floor covering specialty stores--many of which already carry Oriental Weavers' rugs--and high end specialists serving designers.
The company will have designated customer service and claims personnel to specialize in the new broadloom category. There will be value added services and merchandising tools, including rack and sample programs.
The new broadloom business will be completely vertically integrated in the U.S., with manufacturing in Dalton.
