Oriental Carpet Exhibition in Romania

Bucharest, Romania, December 27, 2006--The National Art Museum of Romania (MNAR) will be hosting the exhibition ‘From the mihrab to the Garden of Eden’, from December 20 through April, 1, 2007, according to Nine o'Clock. The Chinese art exhibition ‘A hundred antiquities and flowers of the four seasons', the Oriental Art Department of the MNAR is presenting a new selection of works in its custody, this time glimpses of its rich Eastern carpet collection. The exhibition brings together 27 carpets from Turkey, Iran, Caucasus and Central Asia, from the 17 and 20th centuries. In a relatively small area, visitors can admire both items from well-known manufacturers as well as pieces from rural and even tribal environments. The curator of the exhibition and the author if the exhibition catalogue is Mircea Dunca, a specialist in Eastern arts, according to Mediafax.
