Portland, OR, April 21, 2006--Classique Floors of east Portland won $75,000 worth of computer hardware and software in a Microsoft contest, according to the Oregonian.
The contest, called Microsoft Total Tech Makeover, awards Hewlett-Packard hardware and Microsoft software, along with information technology consulting services, to assist with business analysis, technology design, installation and training. Classique Floors was chosen from among 230 national entries.
"This is going to be huge," said Judith Houck, owner and president of the 14-employee company which sells and installs carpeting and flooring. She said she has ordered a tablet laptop for her estimators, a Microsoft small business server, point-of-sale software and hardware and a bar-code
Classique Floors was nominated for the makeover by Mt. Hood Computer Services Inc., a company that provides information technology services for small businesses. "I knew that technology would help her business," said Tom Rich, president of the company.
