Orders for Manufactured Goods Declined 0.4% in November
Washington, DC, January 6, 2025-- New orders for manufactured goods in November, down three of the last four months, decreased $2.1 billion or 0.4% to $586.1 billion, the U.S. Census Bureau reported. This followed a 0.5% October increase.
Shipments, up following three consecutive monthly decreases, increased $0.7 billion or 0.1% to $586.3 billion. This followed a 0.2% October decrease.
Unfilled orders, up fifty-one of the last fifty-two months, increased $4.6 billion or 0.3% to $1,404.8 billion. This followed a 0.5% October increase.
The unfilled orders-to-shipments ratio was 7.07, up from 7.04 in October.
Inventories, up following two consecutive monthly decreases, increased $2.5 billion or 0.3 percent to $859.3 billion. This followed a 0.1% October decrease. The inventories-to-shipments ratio was 1.47, up from 1.46 in October.
