Orders for Manufactured Good Rose 0.6% in June

Washington, DC, August 2, 2019- New orders for manufactured goods in June, up following two consecutive monthly decreases, increased $3.1 billion or 0.6% to $493.8 billion, the U.S. Census Bureau reported. 

This followed a 1.3% May decrease. 

Shipments, up four of the last five months, increased $1.9 billion or 0.4% to $506.2 billion. This followed a 0.1% May increase. 

Unfilled orders, down four of the last five months, decreased $8.0 billion or 0.7% to $1,160.2 billion. This followed a 0.8% May decrease. 

The unfilled orders‐to‐shipments ratio was 6.53, down from 6.62 in May. 

Inventories, up nine of the last ten months, increased $1.3 billion or 0.2% to $695.6 billion. This followed a 0.2% May increase. The inventories‐to‐shipments ratio was 1.37, down from 1.38 in May.
