Omnova Solutions Finalizes Labor Contract

Fairlawn, OH, June 6--Omnova Solutions said that employees at its Mogadore, Ohio facility represented by the International Chemical Workers Council and its Local 419-C of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union have ratified a new contract with the company. The contract covers approximately 82 bargaining unit members. Omnova employs about 132 total employees at the Mogadore plant. The new contract extends for four years through May 31, 2009. "This new contract helps to positively address cost and work processes that are critical to the plant's competitiveness, while continuing to provide an excellent wage and benefit package for our Mogadore hourly workforce," said Kevin McMullen, Omnova Solutions' chairman and chief executive officer. Omnova Solutions' Mogadore, Ohio plant is part of the company's Performance Chemicals Business Segment. The plant produces synthetic latex used as binders and adhesives for paper coatings, carpet-backing, nonwoven products such as disposable diapers, construction, tires and many other applications.
