Number of Homes for Sale Falls in July

Washington, DC, Aug. 18, 2011 -- The number of homes listed for sale fell again in July, according to Realtor.com.

Listings fell by 1.2% from June and nearly 18% from one year ago.

Realtor.com says that there were 2.31 million homes listed for sale at the end of July. That is the lowest level for July since the series began in 2007.

The Realtor.com data also showed that median asking prices were unchanged from June to July and from one year ago.
