NSF Certifies Mannington Commercial Resilient
Salem, NJ, May 20, 2008--Mannington Commercial said it is the first floor covering company to be awarded NSF 332-2007 Draft Standard Gold Certification for all of its commercial inlaid resilient flooring.
The designation recognizes the brand as environmentally preferable for meeting the rigorous requirements of the Sustainability Assessment for Resilient Floor Coverings standard.
The product rating system conducted by NSF International includes intensive evaluation of environmental performance in manufacturing, total company policies and practices, and also of specific product attributes.
Several Mannington carpet products also have attained an environmentally preferable NSF rating, certified to the NSF-140-2005 Sustainable Carpet Assessment Standard.
“We’re proud to be the very first company to achieve this level of certification for our commercial inlaid resilient products and add the credibility of such a well-respected third party endorsement,” said Dave Kitts, Mannington’s vice president environment.
According to Susan Petie Davis, NSF business unit manager, sustainability services, “NSF 332, now at a draft stage and proceeding through an ANSI open consensus process, allows for certification by an independent third party. The intent is to improve the sustainability profile of resilient floor coverings and, over time, drive the industry to higher levels of sustainable manufacturing. Mannington was the first company to seek this certification, which reflects its commitment to finding solutions for environmental design issues within the flooring industry.”
