Nood Partners with Nylene Canada

Dalton, GA, January 22, 2007--In celebration of the first anniversary of its brand launch, Nood Floorcovering has debuted nine products created through a new partnership with Nylene Canada. In the summer of last year, Nylene, a subsidiary of Polymeric Resource Corporation, began promoting NATIQ EnviroWork 30 on the benefits of performance and environmental responsibility to the commercial market. The yarn, one of the NATIQ line of commercial and residential fibers, contains 30% recycled content nylon 6, and uses a unique five-dye affinity process along with diverse luster, ply and heat-setting options. The resulting wide variety of style options is tailored to today's demanding workplace requirements. "Nood is built upon a commitment to keep our environmental footprint as small as possible," said Nood founder Bo Barber. "There can be no separation of what is good for business and good for the environment; at Nood, sustainable practices are the only practice. So when a wonderful yarn system like NATIQ EnviroWork 30 becomes available, we bring it into our family of products, in order to bring it to our customers." "The NATIQ brand name may be new to the marketplace, but it has a tradition of years of integrity and proven quality," said Don Nicholas, executive vice president and general manager of Nylene's Arnprior, Canada facility. "We are currently the only facility that is depolymerizing nylon have for more than forty years. We have a long history of innovation and environmental practices." Nood's nine new patterns created with the fiber system are Curbside, Downhill Racers, In the Vineyard, Land Between, Lost Snow, Secret Pint, Skyscraper Lane, Stare into Light, and Sub Zero Fun. As with all Nood carpets, the products are tufted as white carpet, then piece dyed for an exact match to a designer's color choice. Nood's precision matching enables the company to retail minimal inventory--rather than thousands of yards tufted and waiting in warehouses in the hopes that it will be purchased--while providing better flexibility to designers. Backing is Nood's standard high performance backing system, BioCel, which includes reprocessed coal ash and polymers made from American grown soybeans, a renewable resource.
