New York Man Admits Fraud in Internet Flooring Sal

Albany, NY, July 10, 2006--A 51-year-old Rensselaer man has pleaded guilty in federal court to mail fraud in his Internet-based flooring business. Federal prosecutors say Timothy Kirsch yesterday admitted advertising wood flooring over the Internet and accepting payments for orders he knew his company could not fill. Kirsch was president of Tak Marketing Incorporated in 2001, doing business as Wood Flooring America. Authorities say he convinced at least 43 customers to place orders, and only five received their actual orders, three got partial orders or mismatched flooring, one received samples, two got full refunds and 32 received nothing. The scheme resulted in losses of more than $156,000.
