New Kentucky Company To Make Wood Flooring Parts

Albany, KY, Nov. 19, 2009--New World Flooring Inc., a startup wood-flooring manufacturer, plans to establish a plant in a former Bluegrass Cooperage sawmill, according to Businss First.

New World Flooring plans to hire 30 employees and make a “multimillion dollar investment” to renovate the 28,000-square-foot Bluegrass Cooperage plant to begin sawing lumber for the flooring industry, according to a news release from Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear’s office.

The sawmill was closed last year.

New World Flooring plans to add 12,000 square feet to the plant to create space for making flooring parts that will be sold to flooring mills and distributors in the U.S., Europe and China.

The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority has granted New World Flooring preliminary approval for up to $750,000 in tax incentives over a 10-year period.
