New Carpet Manufacturer Operates Only Via Web
Saraland, AL, May 28, 2009--Whitespace is a new web-based carpet brand and is the first to operate exclusively from an online platform, the company said.
The whitespace business model incorporates the full potential of the web as a means of putting the specifier in full control of the carpet specification process. Whitespace.bz replaces a traditional sales organization with online experts; printed materials with high-end digital photography online; and mass produced product samples with made-to-order swatchboxes.
“Not only are we on a mission to create less of an environmental footprint with everything we do, the accessibility and transparency of our online platform makes it easier for designers to evaluate products, accomplish specifications, and complete successful projects,” said whitespace President Ken Dempsey.
Flooring specifiers have 24/7 access to products via the whitespace.bz digital online library with enhanced applications that include an extensive selection of whitespace broadloom and modular tile displayed in true color via high-end product photography. Product specifications, warranty and LEED information, and product pricing take the guesswork out of the design process.
In addition to providing on demand information, whitespace is staffed with online experts, including product designers, customization facilitators, project managers and technical experts, who offer real time assistance via chat, instant answer email, or phone. No waiting on returned phone calls from a busy sales rep or wondering if your voice mail message was received.
The company said its products are NSF-140 Gold Certified for sustainability and manufactured in a facility in Mobile Ala. that offsets 100% of the energy consumed to manufacture carpets with Green e-certified renewable wind energy credits.
Whitespace modular tiles and broadloom are constructed with 100% Antron nylon fibers. Users of Whitespace products can participate in the Invista carpet reclamation program.
Instead of architect folders, Whitespace uses a “swatchbox,” which contain swatches of the selected product. Each swatchbox is assembled only upon a request. Designers can return the swatchbox with its prepaid, self-addressed return label and whitespace will reuse or recycle.
