New Bentley Prince Street Styles Feature Felt

City of Industry, CA, Dec. 2, 2008--Bentley Prince Street has launched three new carpet styles called IndustraFelt, Machine Made & Mass Produced.

The company said the new styles, using Antron Legacy 6,6 nylon, are inspired by the intersection of mechanically produced goods and craftsmanship.  All three styles are available in broadloom and 18” X 18” carpet tile.

The company said that the early inspiration for the new styles originated from Bentley Prince Street’s designers’ fascination with industrial felt materials and their desire to achieve a felt finish in a tufted broadloom product. IndustraFelt captures the essence of the industrial look, while Machine Made and Mass Produced feature modern patterns.

“The joining of felt to tufted broadloom and pattern makes IndustraFelt, Machine Made & Mass Produced,” explained Valerie Ottaviano, vice president of design for Bentley Prince Street.

“This is a melding of craft and science applied as a method to bring two ideas together through complex process and techniques.”

In developing the common color palette for the products, Bentley Prince Street’s designers explored colors of raw materials found in industrial production, and then added accents of spark and flash. The result is 18 elegant neutrals, with six bold statements of impact color.
