New Axminster Weaving System Makes Debut
Hannover, Germany, Jan. 21, 2011 -- A new Axminster weaving system called Axtec that cuts cost and frees up production space made its debut at Domotex, according to Intel@tex.
Axtec is the result of a collaboration between Axminster manufacturer Brintons Carpets and Crabtree Textile Machines, a member of the Cobble Group.
Axtec is based on an innovative yarn selector system, according to the story.
The weaving system has been designed and patented by Brintons and is manufactured and supplied by Crabtree.
At the center of the system is a high-speed tuft selector.
The new system makes it possible to economically weave small quantities in high coloration, according to Cobble Group.
The system is already in use at Brintons factory in Kidderminster, UK and is now being made available to other manufacturers, it said.
