Fallon, NV, August 20 - Paul Orong never planned to own a business, but when the opportunity presented itself he opened Tile Guyz, according to the Lahontan Valley News.
Tile Guyz, 430 S. Maine Street, is run solely by Orong. With more than 20 years of experience in the floor-covering business, Orong pursued the venture after being offered wholesale deals on tile and tile displays.
Dealing with several tile company representatives, he now carries about six lines of products. His goal is to provide the community with a local home-furnishing resource.
"We want to make a business so that all the stuff seen on home-improvement T.V. shows is available to people at a good price," he said, before showing off his inventory. "We are more than just tile."
In addition to a wide variety of tiles, the business sells blinds, wall tile, hardwood, laminate, ceramic, granite and marble floors.
Orong, who enjoys visualizing and designing floor patterns, is also willing to make house calls to help customers achieve their desired look. For him, the work is fun.
"I'm happy just paying the bills and doing what I like to do," he said. He is not looking toward expanding the business but simply wants it to provide him and his family a substantial income.
