NeoCon Debuts to Renovated & Expanded Showrooms

Chicago, IL, June 12, 2007--The 39th annual NeoCon World’s Trade Fair, North America’s largest commercial interior design show and conference, June 11-13, 2007, offers architects, designers and facility managers an opportunity to see the latest product introductions from more 1,200 exhibitors at The Merchandise Mart Chicago. With 100 percent occupancy on the permanent contract floors and temporary floors, 2007 promises to be another record-breaking year for the most important industry event for commercial interiors and the built environment.

The 3rd, 10th and 11th floors of the Merchandise Mart house 130 permanent showrooms that encompass more than 550,000 square feet of commercial furnishings. Many of those showrooms have recently expanded or renovated their spaces and industry professionals will have their first look at the newly designed suites during NeoCon.

2007 marks one of the largest years ever for showroom renovations, with over 350,000 square feet of showroom space under construction.

Following are the highlights of showrooms that have expanded or renovated in the previous year:

3rd Floor

Haworth (Suite 312): Renovation designed by Perkins & Will/Eva Maddox Branded Environments.

Krug (Suite 333): Complete renovation including new storefront and interior finishes.

Design Tex (Suite 3-100): Relocation and expansion from 2,800 raw-square-feet to 5,000 raw-square-feet.

Mohawk Group (Suite 375): Renovation including new store front and interior finishes.

Maxon Furniture (Suite 367): Renovation including new lighting and interior finishes.

OSI Signatures in Fine Wood (Suite 55): Relocation and renovation.

Councill Contract (Suite 337): New showroom with renovation designed by Gary Lee Partners.

First Office (Suite 3-121): New showroom featuring Wii bowling lounge.

10th Floor

Teknion (Suite 1048): Showroom expanded from 13,000 square feet to 21,000 square feet with complete renovation designed by Michael Vanderbyl of Vanderbyl Design.

Steelcase (Suite 1032): Renovation featuring a two -story atrium within the showroom.

Momentum Group (Suite 10-147): Complete renovation designed by Gensler.

MAiSPACE (Suite 1056): New showroom with complete renovation.

B&B Italia (Suite 10-115): New showroom with complete renovation.

J&J/Invision (Suite 10-118): Complete renovation including new storefront, layout, and interior finishes.

Empact Contract Furniture (Suite 10-128): New showroom with complete renovation.

11th Floor

Milliken Carpet (Suite 1149): Relocation and expansion from 3,000 square feet to 4,400 square feet with LEED CI registered renovation.

The HON Company (Suite 1128): Complete renovation

Creative Wood (Suite 1191): Relocation and expansion from 2,000 square feet to 3,100 square feet with complete renovation of new space.
