Nebraska Furniture Mart to Close Floors Inc.

Lincoln, NE, May 7, 2026-Nebraska Furniture Mart has announced plans to close its Floors Inc. commercial contracting division.

According to the company, “After careful review of the business, the difficult decision to wind down operations over the next 45 to 90 days was made. Given current economic conditions and the investment required to return the business to sustainable profitability, this is the responsible path forward. Our focus now is on supporting employees, completing existing work safely and successfully, and ensuring customers and partners are treated with care throughout the transition.”

The company, a Fuse member, was headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska and run by Ken Bohn, who was named president and CEO in December 2024.

Floors Inc. was one of Nebraska's largest commercial floorcovering sales and installation companies with facilities in both Lincoln and Omaha, servicing the commercial market for over 45 years. In 1991, Floors Inc. became a wholly owned subsidiary of Nebraska Furniture Mart and Berkshire Hathaway Inc. 

Bohn was presented with the All-Star Attendance award at the Fuse meeting in March.
