Nardelli Speaks on Transparency

Atlanta, GA July 10, 2006--Home Depot chairman and chief executive Bob Nardelli has been under fire recently for a variety of issues. Among those issues are the company’s lagging share price, his pay package and most recently the company’s shareholder meeting in May, where Nardelli was the only board member to show up and then refused to take questions from the assembled shareholders. In the past few weeks Nardelli however has attempted to reverse the criticism by opening himself up to Wall Street analysts, stockholders and media alike. Nardelli granted an interview to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution last week, discussing the company, the controversy and the business strategy for Home Depot--a message he says has been overshadowed by recent headlines.
