Washington, DC, July 6, 2006--After several years of record levels, the housing market is showing some signs of cooling. Higher interest rates, declining affordability and a retreat by investor/speculators have contributed to the dampening of the market. Now, midway through 2006, chief economists from the National Association of Home Builders, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae will give a year-to-date analysis of the housing and mortgage markets, and discuss their forecasts for the rest of 2006 and beyond.
