NAFCD Presents Ceramic Education Program in Midwes

Chicago, May 25--The successful ceramic tile program "The Revealing Truth about Ceramic Tile – Including Porcelain and Glass: Putting the Profitable Pieces Together" found an enthusiastic audience in the Midwest during its fourth regional presentation. Sponsored by National Association of Floor Covering Distributors (NAFCD) and Coverings, the program treated a 100+ person audience to a complete education on the product line. Held April 13, 2005 in St. Louis, the half-day seminar, designed to cover the complexities of selling tile today, featured a line-up of well respected industry experts. "What is so exceptional about this program is that there is not a lot of opportunity for this audience to hear this level of speakers. It’s important to bring the show to them," said Steve Arnold of AMC Tile, St. Louis, of the multiple-city tour of the ceramic program. "Our turnout was great. We drew people not just from St. Louis, but from up to 100 miles away. We gathered people from small retailers to multiple-store companies. It was a good mix." Industry experts Jonathan Trivers, Eric Astrachan of the Tile Council of North America, Inc., and Patti Fasan of Professional Attention to Tile Installations, shared a host of valuable information. From installation and other technical issues in the tile industry to how to select the right color, design and style for tile projects and how to identify tile markets and operate within them, this comprehensive program presented everything the tile dealer needed to make a new market niche. In addition to learning the latest news about the ceramic tile product category, one lucky attendee took home a trip to Coverings 2005. Karyn Hessler of Classic Carpet Co. & Decorating Center in St. Charles, Mo., was the winner of the door prize: A coach, round-trip airfare and a four-night hotel stay to Coverings, the ultimate tile, stone and flooring expo, to be held May 3-6, in Orlando, Fla.
