Motyl to Step Down as Amtico North American CEO
Coventry, England, November 17, 2006--David Motyl, CEO of Amtico North America, will leave the company at the end of March 2007. He’ll be replaced by Chris McKee, who’s currently general manager of Flooring Services at Home Depot. The change comes on the heels of Amtico International’s sale to a group of investors headed by the Dutch bank ABN Amro. Motyl has been with Amtico for 16 years. Before moving to the U.S. in 2004 to head that business, he held a series of financial, sales and general management posts for the U.K. headquartered company and was responsible for the business in Europe before taking the top job in the U.S. Jonathan Duck, who heads up the fast growing luxury resilient business, said “many of us have worked with David and can attest to his broad skills, abilities and humor. David was instrumental in setting Amtico up as an independent company in 1996 and has always wanted to see the company through this period of growth to new ownership, before moving on to a new challenge. Under his leadership, our U.S. business has grown strongly in both sales and profit and he leaves behind a strong management team and a vibrant well-managed business.” Chris McKee will join Amtico in January 2007. McKee has a strong sales management background including periods with Beaulieu and Shaw, and in a variety of other high growth businesses. According to Motyl, “Chris has all the skills and the personality needed to continue Amtico’s growth and take the business to the next level. He understands what is required in all the business areas where Amtico competes.” Motyl will remain with Amtico through the first quarter 2007 to assist in the transition.
