Mortgage Rates Remain at Record Lows

Washington, DC, July 16, 2010--The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage remained at record, averaging 4.57% for the week ending July 15, according to Freddie Mac's weekly survey of conforming mortgage rates, released on Thursday.

The mortgage averaged 5.14% a year ago, and is now at the lowest level it has been in the history of Freddie Mac's 39-year survey.

The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 4.06%, down from last week's 4.07%. The mortgage averaged 4.63% a year ago.
