Mortgage Application Volume Rises Last Week

Washington, DC, June 11, 2014 -- Mortgage applications jumped 10.3% last week from the previous week, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association.

The Refinance Index increased 11% from the previous week, while the seasonally adjusted Purchase Index increased 9%.

The refinance share increased to 54% of total applications from 53% the previous week.

The average interest rate for 30-year fixed-rate mortgages increased to 4.34% from 4.26%.
