More Jobs Added in January Than Expected

Roseland, NJ, Feb. 2, 2011 -- Private employers in the U.S. added 187,000 jobs in January compared with a gain of 247,000 jobs in December, according to the monthly ADP Employment Report.

The median of estimates from economists was for a rise of 145,000 private-sector jobs in January.

The December figure was originally reported as a gain of 297,000 jobs.
