Monticello Owner Got Start in Mexico
Dalton, GA, Nov. 21, 2008--The owner of Monticello International LLC, which just purchased assets from Thomas Industries, spent much of his career in the carpet industry in Mexico.
Al Penny worked for Mohawk Industries in manufacturing facilities in Mexico from the late 1970’s through the early 1990’s. Later he worked with Beaulieu of America, distributing products in the Mexican market.
Penny also distributed European laminate in Mexico in 1999, and in the U.S. in 2003. His companies currently operate 15 distribution warehouses in both Mexico and the U.S.
The acquisition of Thomas Industries completes the range of floor covering products for Monticello International. In the future all products will be marketed under the Monticello Floors brand name together with Templeton Hospitality and Echo Carpets.
