Mohawk's SC Yarn Operations Closing Earlier than Previously Announced

Bennettsville, SC, September 8, 2022-Mohawk’s Oak River flooring plant will close September 9, almost a month earlier than previously announced, according to WPDE 15 News.

Operations were previously slated to cease October 6. 

The Bennettsville campus consists of three plants that collectively employ about 600 people. The plants specialized in yarn conversion and extrusion operations; these operations are being transitioned to manufacturing facilities in northwest Georgia.

“The plant has been in the county for more than 60 years and several employees have worked there for more than 40 years.”
