Mohawk Wins Southeastern Sustainability Honor

Dalton, GA, May 3, 2011 -- Mohawk Industries was among the top companies honored this morning for sustainability efforts by GreenBusiness Works.

Honored companies were selected from the largest 3,000 U.S. equities from Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. They were ranked on environmental, social and governance factors and policies.

Mohawk placed fifth among Georgia companies and first among flooring companies.

Last year was the first year for the Southeastern Corporate Sustainability Rankings, and Mohawk made the second quintile of companies.

This year the rankings identify companies in numerical order. Companies must be publicly traded on a major exchange, headquartered in the Southeast and have a minimum market capitalization of $100 million as of June 30.
