Mohawk/Unilin Wins ITC Order Blocking Imports of Competing Vinyl Flooring

New York, NY, September 17, 2020-Mohawk and its Unilin unit won an order that will block imports of any luxury vinyl flooring that use Mohawk inventions without permission, according to a notice by the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), and reported by Bloomberg News.

“Mohawk had argued there was a “widespread pattern of infringement” from unlicensed companies making floor tiles in China and selling them in the U.S.

“Mohawk had settled with 35 of the nearly four dozen companies it had originally named in the complaint; others were found in default.

“The patents relate to locking mechanism in the flooring panels and glueless rigid or multilayered flooring panels.”

The order is available here.
