Mohawk Website Consumer Application Wins Award

Dalton, GA, Oct. 22, 2008--My Mohawk RoomMate, a web application that matches consumers with the right type of flooring for their room makeover, earned two awards from the International Academy of Visual Arts and the W3 Awards.

“Mohawk Residential is particularly pleased with this achievement,” said David Duncan, vice president of marketing.

“We think My Mohawk RoomMate provides a unique tool to assist consumers in finding the best flooring match for their rooms.”

The 2008 W3 Awards were announced on Oct. 8. The two Silver Awards were bestowed in the Consumer Goods and Manufacturing categories for a Game or Application.

My Mohawk RoomMate asks consumers 10 questions including the style desired, who will use the room, how much traffic, pets in the home and environmental concern. The RoomMate then recommends two options of flooring type and a corresponding collection. Consumers then link over directly to the product galleries with choices already narrowed down. As the only complete flooring resource, Mohawk’s online tools help consumers make the decision for their particular needs.

The 2008 W3 Awards honors top companies and agencies worldwide for creative excellence on the web, and recognizes the creative and marketing professionals behind award winning sites, videos and marketing programs.

Mohawk Residential’s manager for Internet technology, Michael Cheek, led a team of creative and technology professionals in creating My Mohawk RoomMate.   The application was unveiled in October of 2007 when the redesigned MohawkFlooring.com was launched.  Mohawk Interactive is currently working on a new version of My Mohawk RoomMate, expected in 2009.
