Mohawk U. Programs Wins at Aurora Awards

Dalton, GA, September 26, 2005 -- Mohawk University programs have gathered more honors, this time at the 2005 Aurora Awards. Mohawk University earned Platinum Best of Show In Training awards for its “Selling With Credit” and its “Basic Selling, Vol. I and II” interactive CD-ROM training programs. The Platinum Best of Show award is the highest honor awarded. Mohawk University joined other award winners including Disney, FOX Sports Net, DIY Network, the U.S. Marine Corps, Sue Bee Honey, and others. The Aurora Awards is an international competition designed to recognize excellence in the film and video industries. It specifically targets programs and commercials that would not normally have the opportunity to compete on a national level by focusing on non-national commercials, regional or special interest entertainment and corporate sponsored film and video. Entries have come from across the U.S. and countries worldwide, including Canada, Hong Kong, Denmark, Mexico, and others. The judging functions are performed by panels of working film and video professionals that are set up in major cities across the country. The Aurora statue itself was commissioned specifically for the competition and is cast in the same foundry that creates the Emmy, Oscar and Clio statues. “We are very honored that two Mohawk University programs were singled out for this award,” said Ed Williams, senior vice president of marketing for Mohawk. “Our material was judged with some of the most professional organizations in the world, and we think it demonstrates the quality of Mohawk University that it received the highest recognition.” Mohawk University, the training arm of Mohawk Industries, teaches thousands of people each year on how to become experts in different aspects of the floorcovering business, covering everything from installation to business operations.
