Mohawk Raising Solid Hardwood Prices
Dalton, GA, June 3, 2010--Mohawk said that the continued escalation of lumber and transportation prices has forced it to increase prices for solid wood flooring and accessories.
Mohawk said it will increase prices by an average of 6% on select solid hardwood flooring and accessories, effective with all orders and shipments made after July 4.
The recession has forced many saw mills to reduce capacity or exit the industry entirely, thereby reducing lumber supply in the market. The reduced supply has resulted in escalating hardwood lumber prices since the beginning of the year.
