Mohawk Promoting SmartStrand at Tennis Event
Charleston, SC, April 7, 2011 -- For the second time, Mohawk is putting its SmartStrand carpet to the test at Family Circle Cup Women’s Tennis Tournament.
The tournament attracts more than 90,000 people to watch many of the world’s best players.
The company is providing the red carpet for players as they enter the court, and for spectators as they come into the grounds.
Traffic on the carpet is being recorded to demonstrate the durability and resilience of SmartStrand carpet. Mohawk also hosts a tent with demonstrations of SmartStrand Sorona and other products.
And, during a special “Girls Night Out” event on Thursday, April 7, spectators and tennis professionals alike will get to see just what SmartStrand with DuPont Sorona is capable of.
Designer Taniya Nayak, Mohawk Spokesperson and star of HGTV’s “Designed to Sell” will be on hand as a celebrity bartender.
Nayak—who actually was a bartender before she became a designer—will mix drinks like “Magic Carpet Cosmos” or “SmartStrand Sangrias,” periodically spilling the colorful concoctions on the SmartStrand Sorona carpet in the Grand Lawn Bar.
A cleaning crew will be on hand to show how even the toughest stains can be easily removed.
Nayak will also be providing design and décor tips to the audience.
Nayak will take the SmartStrand message outside the tournament, too, with interviews in various media.
