Mohawk Now Producing Face Shields for Pandemic Fight

Calhoun, GA, April 15, 2020-In addition to producing medical gowns for medical professionals fighting the Coronavirus pandemic, Mohawk is now producing face shields as well.

Franco Sanchez-Camarillo, one Mohawk’s process engineers, reverse engineered the easily assembled face shield that utilizes elastic from the company’s existing bathmat production line. Once other components were sourced, the team quickly learned the assembly process and began producing the shields in mass quantities.

The company is distributing these not only to medical first responders but to law enforcement agencies as well, so that they are protected when they are called in to situations in which an individual may be infected with COVID-19.
