Mohawk Names Wellborn President, COO

Calhoun, GA, Nov. 6, 2009--Mohawk Industries said that W. Christopher Wellborn has been named president and chief operating officer.

Wellborn has held the position of COO since November 2005 and served on Mohawk's board of directors since 2002. He was president of Dal-Tile, the company's ceramic and stone products business, from March 2002 to November 2005.

"Chris has been an excellent partner in his role as Chief Operating Officer as we transitioned from a carpet manufacturer to a total flooring business including carpet, rugs, ceramic, laminate, stone, wood and vinyl products," said CEO Jeffrey Lorberbaum.

"He has contributed to improving the company's strategic initiatives, organization structure, personnel development, and execution in this role."

Wellborn will continue in the development and execution of the company's strategy and will promote further innovation in products, processes, marketing and brands in all of the company's enterprises.
