Mohawk Names Leahy SVP, Hard Surface
Dalton, GA, March 23, 2006--Bob Leahy has been named senior vice president-hard surface for Mohawk Industries' residential strategic business Unit. Leahy, currently vice president, home center services at Dal-Tile, has worked for Dal-Tile over 20 years. He began as an architectural representative in Northern California, advancing through the company to become sales service center manager, area manager, and national accounts manager, where he played a key role in the development of the company’s home center business segment. In his new position, Leahy will be responsible for overall business of the hard surfaces residential products offering under the Mohawk brand. He will report to Tom Lape, president of Mohawk’s residential SBU. “This segment continues to represent the most significant growth opportunity for the Mohawk Residential SBU and Bob’s experience and expertise in this area will be integral to our success,” Lape said. “He will be working closely with the residential sales group in developing and refining the sales and marketing strategies of our hard surfaces business.” Leahy will relocate from Dallas to Georgia with his wife and children.
