Mohawk, Interface Near Top of SE Sustainability Ranking

Calhoun, GA, Dec. 10, 2014 -- Both Mohawk Industries and Interface were highly ranked on the 2014 Southeastern Corporate Sustainability Rankings.

Mohawk checked in at number five, while Interface was just behind at number seven. Last year Mohawk was number 11, while Interface was number 19.

In the state rankings, Mohawk was second in Georgia while Interface was fourth. United Parcel Service was the top rated firm in the state.

The Southeastern Corporate Sustainability Rankings, founded in 2010 by GreenBusiness Works and Mark Callaway Investments, reviews the practices of publicly-traded companies from an eight-state region: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

The rankings evaluate companies on a variety of environmental, social and governance factors that align with Global Reporting Initiatives G4 Guidelines.

Companies must be publically traded on a major global exchange, have a minimum market capitalization of $500 million as of Dec. 31, 2013, and have produced a publicly available corporate sustainability report to be considered for the rankings.
