Mohawk Holds Biggest Aligned Meeting Ever

Nashville, TN, Dec. 5, 2011 -- Mohawk held the largest meeting of aligned dealers in its history last week as approximately 2,000 guests attended.

A major point of emphasis at the meeting was the introduction of Mohawk's new Smartstrand Silk carpet. Softness has become a significant selling point for carpet, and Mohawk believes its new product, based on triexta fiber, has put it well ahead of other carpetmakers.

In other news from the meeting, Mohawk has a new license with Peanuts Pig Pen to promote 3M Scotchgard protection. Pig Pen was the Peanuts comic character who always walked around in a cloud of dirt.

There was also a heightened push on products made in the U.S.

The Gala on final night featured J.R. Martinez of Dalton, Georgia, winner of Dancing with Stars.
