Mohawk Guard Abducted In Texas Trailer Heist

Coppell, TX, August 10—-According to reports, a security guard was kidnapped from her job at Mohawk Industries while a man stole a trailer full of carpet from the facility. The security guard, Janice Bowditch, 54, said she thought nothing of a big rig rolling into the loading dock around 3 a.m. Monday. But, Bowditch told Coppell police that man driving the rig then pulled a gun and forced her into the cab of his truck, then hooked his rig to a trailer full of carpet and sped off with her still inside. Bowditch said she was forced at gunpoint to lay down in the cab of the truck while her abductor drove around North Texas for several hours. She was later released unharmed. The missing trailer is owned by U.S. Express and has Oklahoma tags.
