Mohawk Group Launches "Believe in Better" Awards

Dalton, GA, May 16, 2025-Mohawk Group announced the establishment of the "Believe in Better" Awards, a new program designed to recognize and celebrate interior design projects that exemplify a commitment to innovation, sustainability, and human-centered impact.

Rooted in Mohawk Group's core philosophy of "Believe in Better," this awards program seeks to acknowledge the power of design to drive positive change. "Believe in Better" is more than a tagline; it's a commitment to pushing the boundaries of design through creativity and innovation, while prioritizing environmental and social sustainability to create a healthier, more equitable world.

The Mohawk Group "Believe in Better" Awards will honor completed projects from any commercial market segment that demonstrate a holistic approach to design, resulting in built spaces that not only function beautifully but also serve people, places, and the planet with profound and lasting impact.

Award Categories:

The "Believe in Better" Awards will recognize outstanding projects in the following four categories:

  • Design FWD Award: Recognizes projects that exemplify leading-edge design strategies, pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation.
  • Handprinting Award: Celebrates projects that exemplify "handprinting," going beyond reducing negative impact to create positive change and giving back to nature.
  • Better Together Award: Highlights projects that exemplify designing for community, demonstrating a commitment to social responsibility, addressing the needs of diverse users, promoting inclusivity, and fostering a sense of belonging.
  • Galloway Charles Award for Creativity and Innovation: Named in honor of a visionary designer at Mohawk Group, this award recognizes projects that exemplify truly innovative and creative design solutions.

Eligibility and Submission Details:

  • Entries close December 31, 2025, and winners will be announced in February 2026.
  • For this inaugural year, projects must have been completed between 2022 and 2025.
  • Projects must feature at least one Mohawk Group and/or Durkan hard or soft surface product.
  • Submissions must include a minimum of three (3) high-resolution images featuring the Mohawk Group and/or Durkan product(s) used, with clear identification of the products in each area.
  • Entrants must agree to the Believe in Better Official Rules.

Award Recognition:

Winners will be recognized with:

  • An award trophy designed by renowned designer Harry Allen. The trophy's iconic spiral form represents the interconnected strands of Mohawk Group's core values: Design, Innovation, and Sustainability. The trophy is crafted in ceramic and made in New York City by Greenwich House Pottery.
  • Travel accommodations for one team member to attend the Award Ceremony with their Mohawk Group Account Executive.
  • Featured coverage in a digital-native article, and social media promotion from Mohawk Group.
