Mohawk, FloorExpo Form Builder Market Partnership
Chattanooga, TN, March 5, 2008--Mohawk Industries, the largest manufacturer of flooring products, and FloorExpo, the largest network of residential flooring contractors, have formed a comprehensive new partnership to serve the single-family new construction and multi-family markets.
Recognizing the strategic benefit of channel alignment for both parties, this manufacturer-to-contractor alignment will provide products and programs that are tailored to the needs of both market segments.
According to Tom Lape, president of Mohawk’s residential business, “We’ve seen the benefit of this type of relationship on the commercial side of the business in our partnership with Starnet and we want to create a similar model on the residential side. We see this as more of an alliance than a buying program. Our plan is to engage our Mohawk University resources along with our niche merchandising and marketing expertise and our product development team to help the FloorExpo members continue to prosper.”

With this new arrangement, Mohawk’s broad range of flooring products from Daltile to Mohawk’s broadloom carpet will now be part of the FloorExpo program.
