Mohawk Director McCurdy Dies

Calhoun, GA, Aug. 4, 2010--Mohawk Industries Director Larry W. McCurdy, 75, died Tuesday.

McCurdy was a member of Mohawk's board since the company's initial public offering in 1992. He was chairman, president and CEO of Echlin Inc.

"Larry was a key contributor to our growth over the past two decades," said Jeffrey S. Lorberbaum, CEO of Mohawk, in a press release.

"He had a distinct perspective that combined all aspects of finance, marketing and manufacturing to positively position a business in a competitive environment."
