Mohawk Creates First Sustainability Report

Calhoun, GA, Aug. 9, 2010--Mohawk Industries has created its first annual sustainability report, A Better World by Design, which is available at mohawksustainability.com.

The report details the company’s focus on sustainable products, and its people and practices, at Mohawk, Daltile and Unilin.

"Mohawk is a company centered around bringing value to everything we do,” said CEO Jeff Lorberbaum

“It’s not simply about being ‘green’,” said William Kilbride, chief sustainability officer at Mohawk Industries.

“We must ensure that the environment and all of our stakeholders benefit in the long run. That is only achieved through open and honest communication.”

Mohawk said its report is constructed according to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines, which it says is the only globally-recognized, comprehensive platform for sustainability reporting.

Mohawk enlisted FIRA as the report assurance provider. FIRA, headquartered in The Netherlands, is a global company that has worked with several best in class companies and has an in-depth knowledge of sustainability and GRI.
