Mohawk ColorCenter and FloorScapes Retailers Partn

Dalton, GA, May 10--Mohawk has become an Industry Partner with the American Society of Interior Designers (A.S.I.D.), the oldest and largest professional organization for the practice of interior design, and the definite resource on built environment. Under the Industry Partners agreement, Mohawk ColorCenter and Mohawk Floorscapes retailers can use the prestigious A.S.I.D. Partnership logo in conjunction with the Mohawk name. The ASID Industry Partners program is dedicated to providing a forum that unites the professional designer with the interior furnishings industry, supplying services and manufactured products integral to the successful practice of interior design. Both interior designers and industry representatives share mutual concerns, common goals and financial interdependence. Together they work to improve products and services, business practices, design education and inter-communication. In addition, ASID Industry Partners seek to raise the professional level of the interior design practice through participation and support of research, educational programs and like activities. Through this interaction with ASID professionals, the potential exists for ASID Industry Partners to expand their knowledge of the practice of interior design and increase their share of the marketplace. "This partnership provides a versatile new tool to Mohawk Floorscapes and Mohawk ColorCenter dealers," said Manny Llerena, Vice President of Retail Marketing for Mohawk. "With this agreement, A.S.I.D. members have a stronger connection to floorcovering retailers, and they can be a substantial source of business. "Association with A.S.I.D. also raises awareness of the Mohawk brand, and since designers tend to bring in business that focuses on mid- to high-range price points, this program also promises to enhance our dealers’ profitability. We’re very pleased to work with A.S.I.D." Mohawk Floorscapes and Mohawk ColorCenter stores use specialized co-branding programs created by Mohawk to build store traffic, improve profitability, and create a more professional presentation of floor coverings. The Mohawk ColorCenter program, established in 1974, is the industry’s oldest co-branding program. Today, more than 2,000 stores display the Mohawk ColorCenter logo. To be a Mohawk ColorCenter dealer, a store must dedicate a significant portion of its floor space to the concept, which provides consumers with an easy-to-understand presentation of carpet, hardwood, laminate, ceramic, resilient, cushion, rugs, and other products. A specialized store display program, Mohawk ColorCenter Elite, cleanly integrates hard surface and soft surface products while teaching consumers about different floorcovering products, and helps simplify the process of making a buying decision. Retailers nationwide have become Mohawk Floorscapes dealers, with the number of Floorscapes stores growing more than one-third in the last year alone. Mohawk Floorscapes dealers show a significant increase in the average price per square foot of flooring sold, as well as an overall increase in sales and profit.
