Mohawk Announces $100 Million Investment in GA. LVT Operations

Calhoun, GA, April 22, 2016— Gov. Nathan Deal announced that Mohawk Industries will expand its existing vinyl flooring operations at the IVC facility just off Connector 3 in Dalton, Georgia

This is the second expansion since the facility was built by IVC six years ago. This project will significantly increase the company’s current U.S. luxury vinyl tile (LVT) manufacturing capacity and enable Mohawk to enter the wood polymer composite (WPC) business--which is one of the fastest growing subsectors in the resilient flooring category.

The $100 million capital investment in infrastructure and equipment will generate approximately 200 jobs for the region.

The project will increase Mohawk’s production of flexible and rigid LVT (WPC) products for both residential and commercial applications.

According to a news release issued by the Governor of Gerogia's office, Mohawk currently employs 34,000 individuals worldwide and approximately 10,250 in Georgia.
