Mohawk Again Named Top 125 Training Organization

Dalton, GA, Feb. 11, 2009--Mohawk Industries has been named as one of Training Magazine’s “Top 125” training organizations again for 2009.

Mohawk ranked 9th among the hundreds of corporations reviewed for this year’s awards.

This is the third consecutive year that Mohawk has ranked among the top training organizations in North America.

The “Top 125” is considered the most elite ranking among Fortune 500 companies for Training and Learning Development.

“Drawing inspiration and sharing best practices from companies like Microsoft, Disney Institute, and IBM is nothing new to Mohawk University,” said Mike Zoellner, vice president of marketing services.  “We look to the best-in-class learning organizations when we develop and implement new programs.”

To qualify for the award, company training organizations are measured, selected and ranked on both quantitative and qualitative data.  Key factors influencing the rankings include training tied to business objectives; leadership development programs; tuition assistance to employees; number of trainers and subject matter experts; certification programs; and business results. An independent research and statistical data company makes the initial recommendations.

In the last three years, Mohawk has risen in its ranking from 64th in 2007, 19th in 2008, and to 9th in 2009.

Mohawk was recognized for a variety of programs, especially a new employee orientation and onboarding program that includes online and classroom learning as well as structured interaction between the new hire, their peers, and supervisor. Sales performance training, and Mohawk University’s award-winning retailer program were also noted.
