Milliken Supports Cans for Cash Recycling Program

LaGrange, GA, October 12, 2007--Milliken Floor Covering, has joined the LaGrange-Georgia Cans for Cash City Recycling Challenge.

The month long aluminum can recycling effort spearheaded by Novelis and the U.S. Conference of Mayors to benefit Habitat for Humanity continues through October with support from Keep Troup Beautiful and the City of LaGrange.

Nearly 7 billion aluminum containers are produced annually and one-third of all aluminum comes from recycled metal. The potential reduction in energy consumption is impressive. Each recycled aluminum beverage can saves enough energy to run a television for three hours.

Collection containers for the empty aluminum cans have been placed in each of Milliken’s LaGrange facilities. Novelis will gather the beverage cans and manage the recycling process around the community. Among the environmental benefits are reduced landfill waste, reduced energy usage, and conservation of natural resources.
