Milliken Presents Citi with Chain of Green Award

Elk Grove Village, Illinois, May 1, 2007--Citi, the leading global financial services company, celebrated the grand opening of its Elk Grove Village Citi Cards Center. Recognizing the environmentally friendly features of the center and Citi’s commitment to sustainability, environmental champion Milliken Floor Covering presented its first ”Chain of Green Award” to Citi leaders.

“Elk Grove Village is both proud and excited to be the new home of the Citi Cards Center, and in addition to employing more than 700 people here and 4,000 statewide, Citi has a long history of community involvement and philanthropy,” said Mayor Craig Johnson. “We are extremely pleased to have such a well respected, global company in this community and in our state.

More than 700 employees currently work in the 176,800 square foot center, with the opportunity for growth. Employees handle “front office” functions, including marketing, finance, decision management, risk, legal, enhancement services and information technology, all supporting Citi’s retail partner and oil credit card portfolios. The building contains a modern 5,000 square foot fitness center, classroom training facility and on-site cafeteria.

“We are very excited about this new facility in Elk Grove Village,” said Vik Atal, Chairman and CEO of Citi Cards. “This is a great community and one where we believe we can grow to most effectively meet the needs of our Citi businesses, partners and customers. The services these employees will handle represent the continued growth in our partnership business. It’s a core competency of Citi to grow in a cost-efficient and customer-focused way and this new facility is a good example of that.”

“This facility exemplifies how Citi embeds sustainability into its everyday business practices,” said Kevin Kessinger, Citi’s Chief Operations and Technology Officer. From the eco-friendly carpet and furniture that we chose, to the local recycling efforts that will take place here, this is a site that proves going ‘green’ is good for business.”

Speakers at the grand opening festivities included Elk Grove Village Mayor Craig Johnson, Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, William Haas, Citi Cards Chairman and CEO Vik Atal and Citi Cards Center Site President Manoj Varma.
