Milliken has had an indirect partnership with BMW since the German automaker began production 11 years ago.
"We've had various partnerships with Milliken, but usually they have been indirect," said Bunny Richardson, BMW coordinator for corporate communications.
Milliken is a Tier 2 supplier to BMW and will partner with a supplier who, in turn, will be the principle BMW supplier for a component.
