Milliken & Co. Makes Another Acquisition

Spartanburg, SC, Oct. 15, 2009--Milliken & Co. said that it has completed the acquisition of Rebus Inc. of Aston, Pa.

Rebus manufactures pigment and additive dispersions for the thermoset plastics and high-performance industrial coatings markets.

Last week, Milliken strengthened its floor covering business with the acquisition of Constantine LLC of Calhoun, Ga.

The company gained four of Constantine's manufacturing locations, a distribution center and about 300 employees.

Milliken spokesman Richard Dillard said the transaction is in line with Milliken's strategic goals of entering markets that play to its strengths, driven by technology and innovation.

"Rebus is an excellent fit for Milliken given our existing expertise in colorants and their application in a variety of plastic materials," Joe Salley, president and CEO of Milliken, said in a statement.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Rebus occupies a 40,000 square foot facility in Aston. Dillard said his company will continue to operate that facility and its employees will now fall under the Milliken umbrella.
