Michigan Firm Makes Rug for Oval Office
Washington, DC, Sept. 1, 2010--The Oval Office has a new Michigan made rug as part of a remodeling project, according to the Detroit News.
The White House said that the Oval Office got refurnished during the first family's recent vacation, including a new rug designed by Grand Rapids-based Scott Group.
The wheat, cream and blue colored oval-shaped rug is made of 25% recycled wool. The rug has the presidential seal in the center and historical quotes selected by President Barack Obama around the border.
The Scott Group previously made the Oval Office rug designed for then-President Bill Clinton, as well as rugs for the White House State Dining Room.
